After your Las Vegas movers are done with their work, your family will need something to get out and do. There are many opportunities for family activities in Las Vegas. Here are five to try this winter.
1. Go ice-skating at Lake Las Vegas in Henderson. This is a one-of-a-kind floating ice rink and is the thing to do in the winter in Vegas. The platform holds up to 75 skaters at a time with the lovely Village Lake Las Vegas in the background. Once you are done skating, experience one of the restaurants in the Village, along with other holiday activities. Cost is $15 per adult, and $8 per child.
2. Explore the nighttime sky from the perspective of a western cowboy. At the Planetarium and Observatory on Cheyenne Ave in North Las Vegas, you will see a 38 minute show featuring the poetry of Baxter Black. This is suitable for children grades 3 and up. Cost is $6 for adults, and $4 for children.
3. View the movie “The Polar Express” in 4-D at the Excaliber. This is an all-inclusive sensory experience that includes real snow and other features in a blend of reality and fantasy. This state-of-the-art 3D Digital projection system will have you reaching out to touch the images that leap off the screen at you. It’s a great movie for the whole family. Children must be 42 inches tall to “ride.”
4. Head to “The Farm” next to Gilcrease Orchard for a natural shopping experience. Buy fresh duck, chicken, quail, eggs, honey from their own hives, and jams made from scratch. The environment is fun for children including pony rides for a small fee.
5. Take advantage of the library system in Las Vegas. You can introduce your children to the pleasure of reading, and experience one of the story times available at the various branches. Readings are 30-40 minutes long and include a wide variety of books, songs, and participatory activities for children of all ages and their parents.
You Las Vegas movers will be finished before you know it, and you will be able to take the family out for some quality fun time. Explore the city for even more family friendly activities.
